This single cylinder, 535cc is a wonderful machine. It has the styling cues from the 60s & 70s cafe racers, without the renowned oil leaks and other foibles of those classic vintages. Best of all, it retains the feel of a bike much older than 2016. You can feel the engine reverberate throughout the chassis, all the way round your body too, as you noisily thump your way up through the rev range.

Included with the bike is a lovely looking Hitchcocks full performance exhaust system, which sounds great too. For me subjectively, it’s a little noisy, as my “spirited” riding style is best accompanied by less attention being drawn (I’m looking forward to the subtle silence of electric sports bikes to come). But this will suit most riders well, who prefer to have a louder note warning other road users of their whereabouts and probably won’t be holding the higher revs that I enjoy (as often at least).

I believe this bike is a great homage to the combustion engine, it is everything we will miss when electricity rules the roads. The sounds, vibrations, smells and gears… It’s all here in a lovely package that won’t leak on your driveway. It’s a little less refined than the updated 650 twins, but it has all the more character for it.

During my short time with the bike, I had many comments on it’s charming appearance. It was turning heads whilst parked in Freo, I know because I could see it from the window of where I was sitting enjoying a beverage with mates. Don’t fret if you’re wanting to take a pillion with you either, as there is a dual seat included in the sale.

You can find out more about our Conti 535  here, but the crux of the matter is, 11,700kms travelled, and it can be yours for just $6,990.
